My math 10 wings class went on a math field trip to see a game show called Do You Want To Be a Mathematician? and it was one of the most exciting things related to math that I have ever done. There was a talk before the actual show and it was interesting but very hard to follow and most of the concepts introduced were above grade 10 level. It went too long, though and I lost interest. The game show after the talk was fun because someone from my school as a contestant in the show. The first part of the game wasn't so interesting because the person from my school wasn't on until the second part. However, it was still interesting to see who would win. When the girl from my school was participating, everyone from our group cheered her on. She did very well and I believe she came in second place for her division of the show. Unfortunately, she did not end up in the finals. The second last round was intriguing because I wanted to see which of the finalists would advance to the last round. If someone passed the first rounds in first place, they got 500 dollars and a very nice graphing calculator, if they passed the second last round, they got another 500 dollars, and if they could solve the final question, they got 2000 more dollars. So the final winner ends up with 3000 dollars and a very nice graphing calculator. The last question was suspenseful because I wanted to see if the final guy could complete the question and win all the money. He did, fortunately for him. After the show we had lunch and then we went to a math workshop where we did math. I didn't find that so interesting. Once the workshop was over, we hopped on our bus and went home. After all that, my brain was pretty tired and I was glad it was all over.
